Holiday Destinations - Always There
I can't remember now why I started this blog - it seemed like a good idea at the time. The amazing thing about it though, is that it's still here, or still there I should say. On the internet, providing help and advice. Okay so maybe there won't be millions coming to it? But if someone does, and they find it useful, then that's a great result.
Introduction to the Bahamas
By Nimrod Saar
Just like many other vacations in the Caribbean, a Bahama Island vacation will put you in touch with the rich history of the sea and might just teach you something about the days of pirates and treasures beyond your wildest dreams. It won't just be tales of Blackbeard or the Blue Hole of Andros that you experience but some of the most luxurious accommodations to help you laugh about those tall tales of the sea. Besides the thousands of tales you might hear on the Bahamas, you will learn of the thousands of islands the Bahamas are made up of. The main islands total about 23 but the smaller keys are endless. Make things easier by considering the two ends of this chain. They are Grand Bahama and Great Inagua. Nassau is the most cosmopolitan area, located on Grand Bahama and Great Inagua is like the wildlife sanctuary of the Bahamas.
Beside the history you experience on your vacation, there is also a rich array of underwater parks. More than 5% of the world's reef mass is located here and waiting for you to see it on your next Bahama vacation. The underwater parks are also what created the wide variety of outdoor activities for a vacation. You can enjoy the sea life while you are also sailing or snorkeling. Thousands of miles of shoreline attract swimmers, surfers, kite-boarders, and sailors to enjoy the spectacular wildlife beneath their feet.
Don't end your vacation without allowing for a diverse cultural experience. The charm and hospitality of the Bahmians can also become a lasting memory when you take advantage of a great government program that is offered on the main island. Visitors on the Bahamas are given the chance to experience real Bahamian culture when they sign up for People-to-People, a cultural program that has been very successful. Whether it's San Salvador, Harbour Island, Eleuthera, or the Exumas, you are going to love your Bahama island vacation and take home many lasting memories of the wonderful people and the rich experiences you had.

South Africa - Game Parks and Wildlife
By Rachel Hill
You can't go to South Africa without making at least one expedition to a major game reserve. This country has some of the best wildlife viewing on the African continent. Moreover, its tourist industry has developed an excellent infrastructure that makes a wildlife safari easy, comfortable, and generally affordable for most visitors. The leading wildlife parks are very well organized. They have well surfaced roads, excellent accommodations, and splendid facilities for viewing animals. For visitors who want it, the wildlife viewing excursion can be much more independent than it is in other countries. Visitors can self-drive on the extensive road networks in destinations such as Kruger National Park. Nonetheless, a guided tour is advisable, because a park ranger can direct you to the best places to see wildlife, and is a wealth of information about the animals and the flora.
Now You See Me, Now You Don't
Some wild animals don't like to have humans watching them; others couldn't care less, as long as the humans don't get too close. Many aren't even trying to hide, when it appears that they are, they're just naturally camouflaged. A park ranger will be invaluable in helping you see animals you might otherwise miss. The best times of day for spotting animals in their natural habitat are early morning and late afternoon. The best time of year is winter, which is July to September in South Africa. That is when dry weather forces animals to congregate around water holes and vegetation is less dense, making the animals more visible. The chances of seeing mating displays and baby animals are better in the spring and summer, but lush greenery can obscure photo opportunities. However, don't unnecessarily disturb animals just to get a good picture.
What Are the Big Five?
The term "Big Five" was coined in the days when professional big game hunters were looked upon as celebrities, as famous as star athletes are today. These "sportsmen" went to South Africa to bag the biggest and most exotic animals to add to their trophy collections. The Big Five were elephant, lion, rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard.
A Different Kind of Shooting
Big game hunting is still a big business in South Africa, but many of the animals once hunted for sport are now on the endangered species list and are protected. More people now do their shooting with cameras. For these animal lovers, the Big Five has been expanded to the Big Nine, with the addition to the list of hippo, giraffe, cheetah and zebra. Even amateur photographers have a good chance of getting great shots of these beautiful animals.
Field Guide
The park rangers say, "The animals are where you find them." But it helps if you know where to look. Giraffes like to browse around tall trees, rhinos prefer dry brush and scrub. The cheetah is an open plains hunter; forest cramps its speedy style. Leopards hunt in both forest and Savannah at night, but in the daytime they can be seen resting in trees, often guarding a kill. Lions are also night hunters, and can often be seen lazing in the shade during the daytime. Keep your eyes open, and learn where to look, and you'll see hyenas, baboons, wart hogs, springboks, and all of the other creatures of wild South Africa.

Golden Autumn and the Costa Del Sol
By Raul G.T.
Finally the rains have come also to southern Europe and the Costa del Sol; however, what for the rest of Europe will be the beginning of autumn with short, gray and rainy days, is for Malaga the first respite after large sunny months. Perhaps it rains a couple of days, but then the sun comes out again, splendid and strong enough to enjoy the beach until December.
The first rains of September cleanse the atmosphere of dust and cool the dry soil. The Costa del Sol is protected by high Mountains of the northern icy winds and therefore the winter here is literally nonexistent: Seasons are passing directly from autumn to spring. Therefore, this is a popular destination throughout the year; there are many more things to do than to enjoy summer, sun and sand, although this is not bad at all!
Furthermore begins now in addition the long season for golfers in what is probably the best location in Europe for this sport, for both professional and amateur players, as the Costa del Sol, which is also called "Costa del Golf" boasts along its coastline more than 60 excellent facilities.
The months of October and April are great if you enjoy huge empty beaches; special sunsets with a different light; enjoy the coastal cities that return to their own pace after the summer bustle, car-free streets, the friendly people, no queuing up for anything.
Malaga is famous for its Nightlife; let´s say that it is indigenous and therefore does not depend on tourist influx, that is, who wants to have fun, won´t be bored in Malaga in winter. It is also a perfect time for walks and getting to know the city without suffocating heat; Malaga has a large number of monuments and museums that are located in the old town, where there are also many pedestrian areas, coffee shops, restaurants, shops.
It is an ideal time to discover the surroundings of Malaga and the Costa del Sol. The province has a large number of protected natural areas of great beauty. It also has a rich history and its hidden white villages give testimony of its Moorish heritage.
If you really had the misfortune to have several consecutive days of bad weather or rain, you may enjoy several shopping and entertainment centers such as the Plaza Mayor in Malaga or La CaƱada in Marbella, with a wide range of shops, restaurants, cinema (with films in English) and other leisure options. I personally like sitting in a coffee shop next to the beach sand watching the rain falling over the sea, because even raining, its no cold yet.
Coming to Malaga, and having some rainy days is not that bad. There are plenty of things to do, just open your mind and drive!, there are also beautiful landscapes to see from the roads, visit those hidden white villages in the mountains and don´t forget your camera even when raining, there is always something to remember.
Another argument is for visiting Malaga in Autumn is that the price range for Malaga hotels and car hire Malaga during these months is very attractive and affordable to all budgets.

The Way the West Was Won - Buying Local
By Becky Kelley
Those of us who are lucky enough to live in Montana understand the beauty, the fragility and the specialness of this place we call home. We want our great Montana cities to prosper, yet with the decline of major industries such as mining, farming and even tourism, that becomes harder and harder each year.
So how can Montana residents help their cities, their counties and their state succeed financially? By supporting our local businesses. If an industry has declined, then we can help create a new one!
There are many ways in which supporting local businesses can help not only the business, our city, and our state - but also help the customers themselves!
Here are a few great reasons to "buy local":
1. Buying local helps build the community in which we live. The casual, friendly banter you'll take part in at your local grocery store or dry cleaners will help foster relationships and help communities bond.
2. Buying local helps build and reinforce the local economy. Dollars spent at local businesses stay here, in the community where they belong. They aren't sent out to a chain store headquarters in another state.
3. Buying local helps you contribute to your community's unique personality.
4. Buying local helps sustain the environment. Independent small businesses are people-oriented and geared toward out community. They consume less land, carry more products that are made locally, and are in locations that are convenient to residents - which creates less traffic and thus less CO2 emissions.
5. Buying local helps us keep our taxes low. Our local business owners put less of a demand on our infrastructure, plus they generate more tax revenue per sale. They cost less and make more in taxes than larger corporations do.
6. Buying local will help create variety. If more and more residents decide to do the right thing and spend the money they make in Great Falls with Great Falls businesses, then it will be easier for new local businesses to get their start here - each serving their customers' special needs.
7. Buying local will create jobs and secondary opportunities for jobs. For instance, a local grocery store will hire local employees. If the residents shop there, it becomes more successful and will need to hire printers to create sale posters, farmers to supply more food, and accountants to keep the books. Buying local from one business will expand opportunities for other local entrepreneurs. http://www.greatfalls.com is your source for everything about Great Falls, MT. Visit GreatFalls.com for more information on local businesses, real estate, attractions and more in Great Falls, Montana.

The Two Oceans Aquarium, situated in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town first opened in 1995. Come and see the penguin's turtle's rays and sharks being hand fed.

While travelling throughout Southern Africa, I realized that so many of the children I saw that lived in the rural areas and even the cities had little chance of matching the experience available to our children who enjoy an abundance of wonderful picturesque and original venues and facilities for education and entertainment right on their doorsteps. Here are two venues that I would recommend visiting with your kids when you're next in Cape Town South Africa.
Greg loves were he lives, and enjoys writing about his experiences while visiting attractions near his home. He also enjoys creating websites about products he has purchased and giving a fair and honest review on them for potential buyers.
