Did you know that many Travel agents are often so busy in January and February that all their staff are not able to take any annual leave?
In Britain we traditionally book most of our package holidays in January or February, just after the festive season when we need something to look forward to in the coming months.
As soon as your Christmas dinner is finished you will notice all the big tour operators launching advertising campaigns on TV and radio. You will also see many big discount promotions with promises of up to 75% discount on selected holidays.
You can pick up some real bargains in January as competition is fierce with many tour operators cutting prices. However, booking early before all the big discount campaigns can actually save you money in some cases.
You will often find that travel agents are very quiet in December and do not actively promote big discounts as customers are normally too busy thinking about the stress of Christmas!
Many people often ask me, "Is it better to book online or at the travel agents or through a call centre? "
Well yes and no! In most cases you will get an online discount and save money on your holiday if you book online. This is the number one priority for most people, getting the best price possible for their holiday!
However, if you think you may need to amend your holiday then your local travel agents may be the best option as you can simply walk in and speak to a travel agent about your booking. Older people often feel more comfortable booking with a travel agent as they can pay cash towards their holiday at any time and may not have access to the internet.
In summary you are best to book your holiday online for the highest discounts in most cases.
