By Raul G.T.

Finally the rains have come also to southern Europe and the Costa del Sol; however, what for the rest of Europe will be the beginning of autumn with short, gray and rainy days, is for Malaga the first respite after large sunny months. Perhaps it rains a couple of days, but then the sun comes out again, splendid and strong enough to enjoy the beach until December.

The first rains of September cleanse the atmosphere of dust and cool the dry soil. The Costa del Sol is protected by high Mountains of the northern icy winds and therefore the winter here is literally nonexistent: Seasons are passing directly from autumn to spring. Therefore, this is a popular destination throughout the year; there are many more things to do than to enjoy summer, sun and sand, although this is not bad at all!

Furthermore begins now in addition the long season for golfers in what is probably the best location in Europe for this sport, for both professional and amateur players, as the Costa del Sol, which is also called "Costa del Golf" boasts along its coastline more than 60 excellent facilities.

The months of October and April are great if you enjoy huge empty beaches; special sunsets with a different light; enjoy the coastal cities that return to their own pace after the summer bustle, car-free streets, the friendly people, no queuing up for anything.

Malaga is famous for its Nightlife; let´s say that it is indigenous and therefore does not depend on tourist influx, that is, who wants to have fun, won´t be bored in Malaga in winter. It is also a perfect time for walks and getting to know the city without suffocating heat; Malaga has a large number of monuments and museums that are located in the old town, where there are also many pedestrian areas, coffee shops, restaurants, shops.

It is an ideal time to discover the surroundings of Malaga and the Costa del Sol. The province has a large number of protected natural areas of great beauty. It also has a rich history and its hidden white villages give testimony of its Moorish heritage.

If you really had the misfortune to have several consecutive days of bad weather or rain, you may enjoy several shopping and entertainment centers such as the Plaza Mayor in Malaga or La CaƱada in Marbella, with a wide range of shops, restaurants, cinema (with films in English) and other leisure options. I personally like sitting in a coffee shop next to the beach sand watching the rain falling over the sea, because even raining, its no cold yet.

Coming to Malaga, and having some rainy days is not that bad. There are plenty of things to do, just open your mind and drive!, there are also beautiful landscapes to see from the roads, visit those hidden white villages in the mountains and don´t forget your camera even when raining, there is always something to remember.

Another argument is for visiting Malaga in Autumn is that the price range for Malaga hotels and car hire Malaga during these months is very attractive and affordable to all budgets.
